Registration is underway for the second annual "Footsteps for Families," a race to raise awareness of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
The event takes place on Saturday, April 27, at Cook Park in Tigard and includes a 10K and 5K. Participants may either walk or run each race. The 10K begins at 9:00 a.m. and costs $35; the 5K begins at 9:10 a.m. and costs $25. Both races are on paved paths and will be chip timed.
The race is being presented by Foster Kids Forward, a community partnership that works to safely and equitably reduce the number of children in foster care. Proceeds benefit Healthy Start--Healthy Families of Washington County, Domestic Violence Resource Center and Community Action Organization.
