Registration is underway for "Ready, Set, UNITE," a race to raise awareness of National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The race is being presented by Foster Kids Forward, a community partnership that works to safely and equitably reduce the number of children in foster care. Proceeds benefit Healthy Start of Washington County, Domestic Violence Resource Center and Community Action.

The event takes place on Saturday, April 28, at Cook Park in Tigard and includes a 10K, 5K, 1K and 1K for kids. Participants may either walk or run each race. The 5K and 10K races cost $35; 1K for adults is $20; the kids' event is $5. Register in advance online at www.uberthons.com; race day registration prices increase by $5.
