Public Meeting on Proposed Garbage and Recycling Collection Rate Increases

The Washington County Solid Waste Advisory Committee* will hold a public meeting to discuss recommended increases to garbage collection rates for commercial and drop box services in unincorporated Washington County. There is no rate increase being proposed for residential service.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at 10:00 AM, at the Washington County Public Services Building Auditorium, 155 N. First Avenue in Hillsboro.

Any person may attend and provide comments to the Committee regarding the proposed rate changes. The public may also provide written comments via email to [email protected] or mail to Washington County Solid Waste Program, 155 N. First Ave, Suite 160, Hillsboro, OR 97124.

*The nine-member Committee makes recommendations to the Board of Commissioners on solid waste and recycling policy and program issues. Members are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners. Six members represent the public; three members represent the solid waste industry. A representative of the County's Health & Human Services serves as a non-voting Committee member. The Committee typically meets the second Thursday of each month from 10-12 at the County's Public Service Building in Hillsboro. Meeting agendas are posted on the County's website; the public is welcome to attend meetings.
