Washington County came to a settlement on the case of Nongnuj Viranond, the Beaverton woman whose pit bull dogs attacked and killed two neighboring dogs in February of this year.

One of Viranond's dogs was shot by Beaverton Police after the attack. She was cited on 20 counts by Washington County Animal Services.

The plea agreement stipulates:
** Viranond was required to euthanize the second dog involved in the attack (this was done 5/8/09).
** The defendant pleads guilty to two counts of dangerous dog.
** The defendant is fined a total of $1000 ($500 due immediately and the other $500 suspended for one year). If there are no similar problems within that probation period, the suspended fine is permanently suspended.
**Defendant reimburses victim the $30 filing fee. No restitution for veterinary bills is sought because the victim is seeking those damages from the defendant in a private lawsuit.
** The County dismisses all other remaining civil infractions.
