Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) is one of several safety net clinics that receives funds from Washington County to provide free or low-cost health care to county residents.

Beginning May 3, NHC will hold a walk-in teen clinic every Tuesday from 3-7 p.m. at the Hillsboro clinic located at 266 W. Main Street. It is easily accessible by TriMet –one block from the Hatfield Government Center MAX stop, one block from the Washington and Adams Street 57 bus, and two blocks from the E. Main and First Street 46 bus.

The clinic, which is open to boys and girls ages 12-24, is staffed by educators and medical professionals who are trained to meet the special social and medical needs of teens.

Services are free or low cost and include pregnancy tests, birth control, testing for sexually transmitted infections and HIV, as well as information and resources about sexual health. All services are strictly confidential. Parental permission is not required.

"It's important that young people have a safe and confidential place to go for their private health care needs," says Neighborhood Health Center Director Jeri Weeks. "We are pleased to be able to offer teen clinic services every Tuesday at our Hillsboro location."

For additional information, call the clinic at 503-941-3016 or the Washington County Health Care Resource Line at 503-846-8851.
