Area Mayors, law enforcement leaders, community leaders gather to call attention to Child Abuse Prevention Month with proclamations and dedication of Child Abuse Prevention flag display

BEAVERTON, ORE– Washington County Mayors, law enforcement leaders and community leaders will hold a news conference and community gathering on the lawn of the Beaverton Library in recognition of April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month in order to call attention to the 1,082 local children who were abused and neglected in 2010. Participants will announce, sign, and release city proclamations for Child Abuse Prevention Month.

The event, sponsored by the Washington County Casey Foster Care Team, will be held on April 14th at 12:00 noon at the Beaverton Library. Mayors, city council members, law enforcement leaders, service providers and citizens will come together to demonstrate that the communities in Washington County stand united to prevent child abuse.
