The Hawthorn Walk-in Center for Mental Health and Addictions Care in Hillsboro will be open from 12-6 p.m. on Christmas this year. Regular hours are 9 a.m.-8:30 p.m. every day.
“We are reducing our hours this day because the past two Christmases have seen few if any walk-ins,” says Kris Puttler-Miller, program director at LifeWorks NW, which operates the center. “We can always deploy our mobile team if a person is in crisis. Nobody will be without access to vital services on Christmas or any other day.”
The Hawthorn Walk-in Center is located at 5240 NE Elam Young Parkway, Suite 100, in Hillsboro, just steps from the Hawthorn Farm MAX stop. It’s a place for people who need help for themselves or for a loved one but do not require hospital-based help. Services include assessment, crisis counseling, mental health education, and connection to treatment providers and other social services for ongoing care.
The 24/7 Washington County Crisis Line is 503-291-9111.
