Change of location for Feb. 10 vaccination clinicUPDATED: 01/28/2020
School Exclusion Day is Wednesday, February 19, 2020. Washington County Public Health officials are reminding parents to make sure their children’s immunizations are up to date. Any child without the required immunizations or an exemption certificate will not be allowed to attend school or child care on or after February 19 until they provide documentation of immunizations or exemption.
Students in Washington County have several options for immunizations. They can see their health care provider, go to their school-based health center, visit Virginia Garcia Memorial Health Center (VGMHC) or Neighborhood Health Center (NHC) during regular business hours, or attend an immunization clinic in the coming weeks. Students should bring immunization records and any related vaccine documents and letters to their appointment. Children over the age of 12 can also be vaccinated at local pharmacies; available vaccines vary.
The following VGMHC school-based health centers (SBHC) will hold special immunization clinics on Wednesday, February 19, 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Students 14 and under need to have a legal guardian present. Students 15 and older can go on their own, but ID and insurance information is required. Patients will be billed according to their ability to pay. Proof of income is required to be eligible for discount. No patient will be turned away for their inability to pay. SBHCs may charge a visit fee for uninsured clients; however, the SBHC front desk staff will work with families regarding payment options. Most insurance plans are accepted, except Kaiser. Proof of coverage is required, if applicable. Call ahead for an appointment and bring any known immunization records and/or any related vaccine documents or letters.
