Washington County Asks for Public Comment on Plans for Aging and Veteran Population

Washington County Disability, Aging & Veteran Services (DAVS) will hold two hearings to allow for public input on their 2013-16 Area Plan, which details the services provided to the community.

The plan can be viewed online at www.co.washington.or.us/HHS/DAVS and is also available at DAVS' office, located at 180 E. Main Street, Suite 226, Hillsboro.

The public hearings will take place:

  • Wednesday, September 19, 1:30-3:00 PM, Beaverton Public Library, Conference Room, 12375 SW 5th St., Beaverton
  • Monday, September 24, 9:30-11:00 AM, Washington County Public Services Building, Room 140, 155 N. 1st Ave., Hillsboro

DAVS is also seeking input for the design of the Veterans Memorial Plaza. The recently completed Veterans Gateway at the Washington County Fairgrounds eventually will serve as a passage to the Memorial Plaza, a dedicated space to honor Washington County veterans. Photos, descriptions and a feedback form can be found at the website listed above. The deadline for community input is September 30.
