It's spooky! We're having a Black Cat Special!

A spook-tacular Halloween event is on right now at the Bonnie L. Hays Small Animal Shelter in Hillsboro. Cats are dressed in their best, ranging from gray and white stripes to tuxedos to the ever-fashionable all black. They're wearing their favorite costumes (fur, that is) to celebrate the shelter's Black Cat Adoption Special.

No tricks here. All kittens that are black or have black on them are half-off the adoption fees. That means a spook-tacular treat at only $40 for the adoption fee. And, all adult cats of any color are half-off the adoption fees and available for just $25.

Hurry! Because when the last flame flickers from the shelter's Halloween pumpkin at 5:30 p.m. on October 31, these ghoulish adoption fees will disappear like ghosts on the wind.

Pet adoption hours are below:

  • 11 a.m.—5:30 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays—Saturdays
  • 12 noon—5:30 p.m. Wednesdays

To see the handsome cats, stop by the Bonnie L. Hays Small Animal Shelter at 1901 SE 24th Avenue, Hillsboro, or see the adoptable pets online.
