Original Release:

The short answer is no, not at this time. However, in order to determine whether Washington County may eventually become eligible for Federal assistance following recent storms which occurred December 7-10, the Washington County Emergency Management Department is seeking input from the public.

Anyone in Washington County who sustained property damage during the storms and subsequent flooding is asked to contact Sharon Gray at [email protected] or 503-846-7575. Those who respond will be asked to provide information about their loss. No Federal resources are currently available for County property owners but based the findings of the combined loss; it is possible that Washington County could become eligible for Federal assistance.

For information about steps that property owners can take to repair flood damage and restore their homes, please refer to the Red Cross publication, Repairing Your Flooded Home.
