Voter registration deadline and ballots to be mailed for November 8th election

Registered Washington County voters should expect to receive their ballots for the November 8, 2022, election in the mail this week. Ballots will be mailed tomorrow. The deadline to register to vote for the upcoming November 8th election is today, October 18, 2022.

Registering to vote is easy and takes just three minutes at OregonVotes.gov. Registration cards must be postmarked by the October 18, 2022, date or submitted online no later than 11:59 p.m. to be valid. Reasons to update your voter registration status include:

• Recent name change
• Just turned 16 years old
• Just became a U.S. Citizen
• Recently moved

If by October 25, 2022, you have not received your ballot, you can request a replacement by using the Ballot Request Form at www.washingtoncountyor.gov/elections or contact the Washington County Elections Office at 503-846-5800. The voting deadline is 8 p.m. on the day of the election, Tuesday, November 8, 2022. Ballots that are mailed must be postmarked by Election Day. Ballots deposited in an official drop box must be received by 8 p.m. on Election Day. As of January 1, 2022, Oregon allows for ballots that are postmarked by Election Day and received no later than seven days after an election to be accepted and counted. You can sign up to track your ballot status through Oregonvotes.gov or BallotTrax.

The following drop sites will be available after the ballots are mailed on October 19, 2022. They will remain open until 8 p.m. election night.
