Ordinance No. 642 proposes to amend the Community Development Code to clarify sidewalk standards in Transit Oriented Districts. The ordinance would also amend the Community Development Code and Pedestrian Element of the 2020 Transportation Plan to reference a design handbook (Pedestrian Enhancements Design Guidelines) that was developed by the county to provide guidance for pedestrian amenities such as wide sidewalks, landscaping, pedestrian-scale lighting and street furniture. The ordinance also proposes to add a strategy to the Bicycle Element of the 2020 Transportation Plan to provide for the possibility of signing certain low-speed/low traffic volume streets as bicycle routes.

Department of Land Use & Transportation staff is working with the community, transit providers and partners to study the status of transit in Washington County to create a Transit Development Plan (TDP) to set the stage for improved and increased transit.<br /><br />The plan will be used to guide community connector and last mile solutions inside the TriMet Service District and prioritize transit investments in the Rural Service Area outside TriMet and South Metro Area Regional Transit (SMART) service districts.

This letter from the Sheriff's Office to the Washington County Budget Committee is in response to a Budget Committee question about the status of Measure 114 passed by Oregon voters in November 2022. In summary, the measure requires local law enforcement agencies to issue a permit-to-purchase a firearm after the applicant demonstrates their ability to lock, load, unload, fire, and safety store a firearm.

The Public Involvement and Communications Plan (PICP) will guide stakeholder outreach and public involvement during the Tualatin Valley (TV) Trail Concept Plan project. The PICP reflects commitments from Washington County, the Oregon Department of Transportation and all their consultants to carry out public-involvement activities designed to keep stakeholders and the broader public engaged and informed about the project and its goals.
