Washington County’s Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 Compliance Plan advances the community values of equity and fairness, and is intended to ensure equal opportunities for all community members to participate in the decisions and activities of government. As a recipient of federal funds, Washington County is required to adopt and implement a compliance plan that describes how the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and associated rules, regulations, and executive orders will be implemented. Beyond that, the underlying ethics of public service require us to ensure that county residents do not experience discrimination as a result of our actions, decisions, projects, or services.
