Washington County to kick-off strategic planning process for housing and community development

The Office of Community Development manages the County's Community Development Block Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships and Emergency Solutions Grant programs which are funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). These programs provide local funding to develop affordable housing and support our most vulnerable community members through services, facilities and infrastructure improvements.

Every five years, HUD requires jurisdictions receiving these funds to undertake comprehensive planning efforts to ensure that these scarce federal resources are addressing the highest priority needs of our communities. The process includes collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and involves community members and partner agencies. All those who are interested in meeting the needs of vulnerable populations and people with low incomes are encouraged to attend a day-long planning process kick-off meeting on December 13, 2018. Additional details are provided in the event flyer or call 503-846-8814.
