Ritchey to Lead Community Corrections Department

Washington County Administrator Robert Davis announced today that Reed Ritchey will lead the county's Department of Community Corrections beginning this July.

Ritchey began working for Washington County in 1983 as a chemical dependency counselor with the Department of Health and Human Services. He then served as prevention coordinator and program supervisor in Health and Human Services before joining Community Corrections as assistant director in 1995.
"Reed is known and respected as a highly skilled, knowledgeable and dedicated professional in the community corrections field, and as a truly outstanding individual," said County Administrator Robert Davis. "He knows the department, the county and the community, and we are very fortunate to have him as our next director of the Department of Community Corrections."
The Washington County Community Corrections Department is responsible for providing probation, parole, post-prison supervision and residential services to the adult offender population. The department is supported by an annual budget of $15 million and is staffed by 106 full-time-equivalent positions.
