New Community Engagement Manager for Washington County

Washington County is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda Garcia-Snell as Community Engagement Manager. Ms. Garcia-Snell fills the position left vacant at the recent retirement of former manager Mike Dahlstrom. Garcia-Snell has worked for Washington County for the past 10 years, most recently as the Health Equity, Planning and Policy supervisor in the Public Health Division of the Department of Health and Human Services. She brings a passion for relationship building and collaboration to her work and has been dedicated to building community partnerships on a broad range of activities for over 16 years.

Prior to joining Washington County, Garcia-Snell held positions with Yamhill County, the Oregon Health Authority, and JLA Public Involvement. She also taught as adjunct faculty in the Chicano Latino Studies department of Portland State University. Amanda holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Anthropology, a Masters of Public Health degree and a certificate in Chicano Latino Studies from Portland State University.

Garcia-Snell begins her new assignment on Monday, September 10, 2018 which includes oversight of the Community Participation Organization program, community engagement support for county departments and programs, as well as strategies which support civic leadership and capacity building.
