Komi Kalevor appointed director of Housing Services
Washington County Administrator Bob Davis announced that Komi Kalevor will lead the Department of Housing Services beginning immediately. Kalevor will take over for Jill Smith who has made a personal choice to return to her prior position with Clackamas County.
Kalevor has served as assistant director of Housing Services since 2014 with direct responsibility for development and low-rent public housing and the federal Section 8 voucher program for rental assistance. He has also served with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Seattle, City of Portland Housing Bureau and the Portland Development Commission (now known as Prosper Portland).
Kalevor has earned a master's degree in business administration from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University in Salem and a bachelor's of arts degree with Portland State University.
"Komi is a knowledgeable, skilled and well-respected member of our Housing Services Department," said County Administrator Bob Davis. "His depth of experience, familiarity with our initiatives and his support and commitment to our employees will contribute to his success in this new role."
Working in partnership with both the non-profit and the private sector, the Department of Housing Services (DHS) combines traditional housing programs with economic opportunity to encourage self-sufficiency, skill enhancement and independence. DHS offers rental assistance to low income households through various federally funded programs and also creates affordable housing opportunities in the community for low- and moderate-income households through a combination of creative financing and partnerships with public and private entities.
