National Community Development Week, April 12-18, 2009

For the past 30 years, the Washington County Community Development Block Grant Program has provided the County with important and flexible assistance to meet the needs of its low and moderate-income residents through the funding of neighborhood revitalization, housing rehabilitation, public improvements, flood relief, and social services.

National organizations such as the National Community Development Association and the National Association of Housing Rehabilitation Organizations coordinate the national effort. The eleven (11) participating members of the County's CDBG consortium are making identical proclamations during this week.

The Washington County Office of Community Development will exhibit a CDBG display of past, present, and future Block Grant projects in the Public Service Building Cafeteria located at 155 N. First Avenue in Hillsboro during this week of recognition.

A proclamation was announced recently recognizing the Community Development Block Program.
