Context Missing from Auditor’s Report on Jail Health Care

A recent report from the County Auditor regarding the provision of health care in the Washington County Jail outlines several useful recommendations – many of which have already been implemented. Nonetheless, the report provides less than a full picture of several fundamental aspects of the County's approach. In a joint memo to the Board of Commissioners, the County Administrative Office and the Sheriff's Office provide a more complete and accurate portrayal of that approach as well as outlining other important limitations found in the report.
