Washington County Volunteer Month

Since 1974, the federal government has dedicated a week in April to recognize the contribution of volunteers nationwide. Today, the departments, offices and programs associated with Washington County propose an official week of recognition of the estimated 1,500 individuals who donate their time, energy and good work to Washington County each year. Their individual contributions, in alignment with Washington County's mission, have helped support a healthier, more peaceful, safer and more sustainable community for all.

This proclamation dedicates April in recognition of Washington County's volunteers, in addition to the gratitude expressed for volunteers at the County's annual Volunteer Recognition Reception earlier this month.
