Resolution objects to proposed federal housing rule

The Board of County Commissioners adopted a resolution today opposing a proposed rule change by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) that would keep federal housing assistance from individuals based on their immigration status, even when some members of their family are U.S. citizens or have some other eligible immigration status. The Board’s resolution calls on the public to learn more about the issue and to oppose the proposed rule change by submitting comments to HUD before the deadline of July 9, 2019.

Please note: no action has been taken yet on this proposed rule change. Those with questions or concerns can contact Washington County Housing Services at 503-846-4794 or by sending a message.
