New online system provides easier access to Board of County Commissioners information
The Washington County Board of Commissioners will begin using a new online agenda management system, starting with their regular business meeting on April 27. The new system known as BCC iAgenda, provides a portal on the county’s main website that allows for easier access to key information including:
- Board member profiles
- Board public meeting calendar,
- Digital agenda packets and meeting minutes,
- Notification of meeting updates,
- Board meeting packet archive going back to 2010 and
- Document Center with advanced search capabilities.
The iAgenda system was chosen through a competitive process, leading to the selection of iCompass Technologies and their CivicWeb Portal, to better support transparency of county government operations and allow improved public access to board-related information. As stated by County Administrator Tanya Ange, “We’re following through on the Board’s desire to provide a robust and usable tool for the community to access information. Their investment in this new resource will enhance our communications capability and continue to make Washington County more open and transparent.”
The portal will offer additional features over time as more resources come online, including information in various languages about accessing board-related information, easy access to how each commissioner has voted on various issues and a video manager to livestream meetings or watch recorded proceedings on any device. The public can access the portal by visiting the county website at https://www.co.washington.or.us/BOC/ and clicking on the BCC iAgenda button, or go directly to the site at https://washingtoncounty.civicweb.net/portal/.
